Operation Socialization gives dog owners the best possible tools to raise a well-mannered, behaviorally healthy lifetime companion.

Why? Because we want your puppy (and all others) to grow up into a behaviorally healthy dog that's easier to train, more adaptable, and overall a joy to live with. The chances of that happening radically increase if you socialize your puppy before he's six months old.

What OS Can Do For You

Take advantage of our services during your puppy's critical development stage and you essentially "vaccinate" your puppy against the most common threats to his behavioral health. We teach you why early socialization is an opportunity you don't want to pass up.

You may even save his life. (The most common reason for dogs being surrendered to a shelter or euthanized is behavior problems.)

Work With An OS Trainer And You Get:

• Expert help training and socializing your puppy.
• An OS Puppy Passport to help you track and evaluate your puppy's socialization experiences.
• Instructions on how to create a socialization toolkit.
• A list of local Socialization Destinations: Our network of businesses committed to providing a safe place for your puppy to visit.
• A bandanna that identifies your puppy as an OS participant.
• A Socialization Success Certificate upon completion.

How OS Works

OS Trainers make socialization easy and fun for you. Here's how:

	Search for available OS trainers in your area. (Can't find an OS Trainer in your area? Contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and let us know).
	Contact your local OS Trainer and learn more about his or her services and rates. (There's no additional cost for Operation Socialization participation).
	Enroll in and complete the Puppy Class offered by your OS Trainer. The curriculum will include the Socialization Success program.
	(Optional) Sign up for our free newsletter with essential socialization tips.
	Upon graduation and completion of your Puppy Passport, mail in your Completion Verification Form and we'll send you a Socialization Success Certificate.

Eligibility

Puppies must meet the following criteria to participate:                                     

• Maximum 6 months of age
• Minimum 8 weeks of age
• Always accompanied by an adult
• Examined by a veterinarian and deemed in good health
• Must have received a minimum of one set of vaccines 7 days before participating in a group class or visiting a Socialization Destination.

We also ask our puppy parents to take the Puppy Owner's Pledge.
